Our Visitors' Book

Here is what some of our guests have said about their stay with us.

We do hope that when you return home you will add your comments, too.

  • We stayed at Auberge de Chevaliers recently for 4 nights. The Gite exceeded our expectations for comfort and cleanliness. The newly refurbished walk in shower was stunning. The kitchen was well equipped and the welcome 'gifts' were much appreciated too. Joe and Nicole were very welcoming and friendly and gave us some good tips for local places to visit and places to eat. We found the Gites to be in the perfect place about an hour from Calais to explore the surrounding area whilst enjoying a beautifully peaceful setting (even with the Brocante taking place!) We hope to return and have better weather so we can take advantage of your lovely outside areas too.

  • Beautiful, warm and friendly country inn. Nicole and Joe welcomed us upon our arrival, gave us a tour of the property to settle us in and made our stay in the area very enjoyable. The accommodations were perfect, large and spacious, quiet and beautifully kept. The gardens were lovely, the barn and covered sitting area were wonderful to relax in and having laundry facilities was excellent for us to freshen things up for the last leg of our trip. Special thanks to Nicole and Joe for making suggestions for going to a local market the next morning, providing a great selection of day trip brochures and for their exceptional hospitality. We didn't want to leave! Our daughters say Hello and we'll be back! Thank you for a great stay! Our best to you!

  • Four of us had a super stay at Auberge des Chevaliers a week ago. Nothing was too much trouble for our generous hosts Nicola and Joe, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The evening meal we were given was fantastic as was the breakfast the next day, and the bar area at the back of the barn was made good use of, too! We were doing a cycling and motorbike trip there, and the countryside is excellent for that. We were able to use Nicola's laundry facilities too which helps when you're on a cycling trip and carrying everything with you. If military history is your thing, be sure to take the short trip to see the Agincourt battlefield (which is actually at Tramecourt, not Azincourt). Thoroughly recommend the Auberge -- the friendly and warm welcome you get there will make your holiday that extra bit special.

  • This is the first time we stayed @ Jeanne la Flamme but it will certainly not be the last!
Nicola and Joe made us very welcome, even supplying us with a bottle of champagne for our wedding anniversary. They were excellent hosts and very knowledgeable about the local area. The gite was very comfortable and clean, equipped with everything one could need for the week. The situation of the farm complex is ideal as it was central for exploring the attractions of Picardy in the Nord Pas de Calais. We wish them every success for the future.

  • I have stayed at Jeanne La Flamme a number of times over the last few years. It's quiet and peaceful and just what was wanted. It's ideal for visiting the WW1 sites and graves in both the north around the Ypres salient and to the south around the Somme, as well as the various local markets which are fun.
Plenty of choice for restaurants etc in Hesdin only just down the road, and the local area is fascinating
The smaller property is ideal for 1/2 people and being not that far from Calais for the channel coast as well as the tunnel/ferries.
Will definitely be coming back again.

  • We have just returned home after 4 lovely days at this beautiful location. It's so peaceful and relaxing. The gites are well equipped, comfortable and warm, it was very cold outside ❄❄. The surrounding area has so much to do and see from the beautiful 7 valleys to the sandy beach at Le Touquet. This is a must to visit, the hosts Joe and Nicole made us extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Don't take our word for it visit yourself and you won't be disappointed.
There is also a lovely golf course not far. Get in quick before they get booked up.

  • We had a lovely weeks stay with Nicole & Joe whilst house hunting in the area. We stayed in the larger gite which was very clean, warm & comfortable with all mod cons. Free wi-fi which was great to be able to keep in touch with everyone. Lovely grounds although a bit too cold to benefit from the BBQ !

Easy access for the tunnel & Paris for day/Disney trips.

Lovely area lots to do & see, staying with them again soon whilst completing on our house purchase!

  • Very pleased. Peace and quite, good sociable hosts with good local knowledge and very good accommodation. An hour from Calais makes an easy travel into an interesting area historically, culturally and all in a rural setting. Would very much recommend the Belle Epoche restaurant in nearby Hesdin if you don't want to self cater. Yes, very pleased.

  • We have just returned from a week's holiday in this cottage. The owners, Nicola and Joe, were very welcoming and helpful. The cottage itself is lovely, we could not think of any way it could be made better. Everything was ready for our arrival, emergency rations of tea, coffee, milk, wine and beer were available for us. The beds were very comfy and we all slept soundly all week. The wifi was excellent and fast. We could park right next to the front door to the cottage and yet enjoy looking at a small floral garden through the living room windows. Although we didn't use them as it was too cold the outdoor facilities were also excellent.

  • Fantastic holiday here in the village of Canlers. A real home from home. Spacious light and airy and everything you could possibly need, with great outdoor space for both adults and children and fantastic hosts. Will definitely be coming back next year.
